Databases

Yomia runs managed PostgreSQL for your apps. Databases are dumped nightly by the platform.

Add a database

sh
yomia add postgres

This provisions a managed Postgres instance in the current project and environment.

Connect an app to it

Reference the database's connection string from your app with a template variable, so the secret is never copied into your config:

sh
yomia env set web 'DATABASE_URL=${{postgres.DATABASE_URL}}'

Run your own database image

If you'd rather run a specific database image yourself, deploy it as a private service (no public URL):

sh
yomia deploy db --image <image> --port 5432 --private

Backups

The platform dumps customer databases on a nightly schedule on the server. Operators can also configure off-site, encrypted backups to S3-compatible storage.
